ancestral aunts

Aunt Maggie dressed as "Harvest" and aunt Jeanie in her mum's tartan,
"Go As You Please", held in Mechanics' Institute, Red Hills-Blackwood
2 January 1888

where to start......

how to start........

with the aunties of course......

seven sisters all native-born in Australia of Glaswegian parents who arrived, as unassisted passengers in Melbourne per "Abdalla" on July 1853.  their first child, a daughter, sadly perished but her name was carried by uncle Jake's mum - Elizabeth - so we always count her as the First.  the first of ten children that nestled under the heart of Ann Horne and were cradled in the carpenter arms of their sire, Andrew Buchanan.

yes, this is a good place to start.....

with love,
with hope,
with promise,
with the joy of a new baby

the Buchanans are here!
